Members were pleased to have Mr. Tham Borg Tsien, Deputy Director, ASEAN Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, present on the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN), focusing on ASEAN Chairmanship tagline of ‘resilient and innovate’ as key elements to ASEAN’s changing landscape in digital transformation. Following the presentation, members engaged in a Q & A session, discussing areas of concern such as cohesion amongst ASEAN states in realising the ASCN, as well as some of the platforms to include private sector participation. This was followed by discussions amongst Interest Group members on subsequent initiatives for 2018.
