Women in Leadership Series: Ms Sue Kyung Lee

22 November 2017 @ 8:40 am - 10:30 am

SICC Members' Room, Singapore

Ms Sue Kyung (SK) Lee, Vice President – Global Safeguard and Asia Pacific Skin & Personal Cleansing at Procter & Gamble (P&G), was our speaker for the Chamber’s Q4 Women in Leadership Series.

SK took us on a personal journey of staying true to oneself when making choices. She shared many anecdotes of the decisions she made and the consequences that she had to embrace. These included accepting career assignments that split the family across geographical boundaries and taking on Korea’s highly-patriarchal system by becoming the first Korean female leader in the company’s 23-year history. SK provided 3 tips for aspiring female leaders:

  1. Decide on the kind of leader you want to be
  2. Decide who you are and build your own character
  3. Decide what is worth it and what is not

As a Diversity Leader for P&G in Asia Pacific and champion for female empowerment at the workplace, SK also shared valuable insights from P&G’s #WeSeeEqual programme to support gender equality at every level, in every region. A recent initiative that she was involved in is the MULAN movement, which aims to further promote gender equality at the workplace.
