Exploring the intersection of AI, leadership and society at SICC’s The Leadership Series

At SICC’s first edition of The Leadership Series this year at Amara Hotel Singapore, the evening feature a keynote address by Mr Lambert Hogenhout, Author & Speaker of Emerging Tech & Society, and a lively fireside dialogue moderated by Mr Glen Francis, Strategic Advisor, Google Cloud, thereafter.

Drawing from more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of technology and policy, Mr Hogenhout shared perspectives on AI strategy, data governance and the broader societal implications of emerging technologies. The discussion also explored how businesses and leaders can balance innovation, trust and accountability in an increasingly AI-enabled world.

Key reflections from the session included:
🤖 AI should augment human capabilities, not replace human judgment and accountability blindly.
🔍 Trust, transparency and governance are becoming essential foundations for responsible AI adoption.
🌍 Beyond productivity and efficiency, leaders must also consider the broader societal impact of AI and what remains uniquely human.

One quote from the session particularly resonated with participants: “Just because AI can do something doesn’t mean we should hand it over completely”.

At SICC, we remain committed to convening timely conversations that help businesses navigate complexity, strengthen connections and lead with clarity in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
