Prioritizing Mental Wellbeing at Work

25 October 2024 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Nanyang Institute of Management

Last Friday, participants had an opportunity to learn why should and how businesses can prioritize mental wellbeing at work in a workshop led by Dr. Sujata Tiwari, Chair of our Mental Wellbeing Interest Group. Social worker Mr. Udhia Kumar facilitated group discussions and activities.

Here are some key insights shared:

🤝 Senior leaders and every people manager are responsible for setting the right emotional climate for a healthy work environment.

🤝 An in-house mentor may be a good option for businesses to help cultivate and sustain a positive workplace culture that offers both personal and professional development.

🤝 The Biological, Psychological, Spiritual & Social (BPSS) framework is a good guide to defining your concept of wellbeing.

🤝 Some forms of self-regulation and co-regulation include employee-led wellbeing programs and, of course, open and honest communication channels.

🤝 Self-reflection and taking the right self-care actions are important for each of us.

Thank you, once again to Dr. Sujata and Udhia for sharing their expertise and insights, to Nanyang Institute of Management for very generously hosting us and to all our participants for an active discussion.
