Navigating Singapore’s Workplace Fairness Act

On 21 May 2025, the Chamber had an engaging and insightful session at Marsh McLennan’s office, focused on Singapore’s upcoming Workplace Fairness Act, which is expected to take effect between 2026 and 2027.

Mr. Jason Chan, Manager, Industry Outreach and Marketing at TAFEP, kicked off the session with an outline of the proposed Workplace Fairness Act (WFA). His presentation covered:

✅ The two-part legislative framework – the Workplace Fairness Bill and the Remedy Framework
✅ Strengthened protections against workplace discrimination
✅ Requirements for employers to implement formal, confidential grievance-handling procedures
✅ The importance of fostering inclusive, supportive, and positive workplace cultures through ongoing training and open communication

The session continued with an impactful panel discussion featuring:

🎤 Ms. Low Peck Kem, President, Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI)

The panel discussed key areas including:

🧠 Enhancing HR culture and employee well-being
🌍 Managing a diverse foreign workforce and addressing workplace discrimination
⏰ Adapting to flexible work arrangements and evolving employee expectations
