At this webinar on how to resolve maritime and trade disputes, our guest speakers, Mr. Punit Oza, Executive Director and Ms. Corina Song, Vice Chairman explained the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) model and its relevance to the maritime sector. Punit covered the following key areas in his presentation:
  1. The major types of maritime and trade disputes
  2. How to choose the most cost effective and relevant dispute resolution mode, and
  3. How to choose the relevant dispute resolution seat and forum

Punit stressed the importance of including a provision in business contracts for parties to have the option to use arbitration to resolve disputes. Corina, in her capacity as Partner, Allen & Gledhill LLP, talked about the practical aspects of arbitration and the features of the SCMA model.
