Artificial Intelligence (AI) is moving beyond chatbots and copilots into a new era: intelligent agents capable of reasoning, planning, and acting on behalf of people and organisations.
As AI agents become embedded across workplaces, many business leaders are grappling with difficult questions. Will AI replace jobs or redefine them? How will organisations be structured when agents become part of the workforce? Which skills will become more valuable and which will become obsolete? What does all this mean for businesses operating in Singapore and an increasingly interconnected global economy?
In this thought-provoking session, Mr Marco Casalaina, VP Products and AI Futurist at Microsoft, will explore how AI agents are transforming the nature of work, reshaping business models and altering the skills that companies and professionals need to thrive.
Drawing on his experience leading Microsoft’s AI Futures initiatives, as well as previous leadership roles across Azure OpenAI and Salesforce Einstein, Marco will provide a practical and forward-looking perspective on what business leaders should expect over the next two years.
The discussion will place Singapore’s AI transformation journey within a wider global context, examining how organisations can navigate talent shortages, workforce transitions, productivity demands, governance challenges and the rise of agent-driven enterprises.
Rather than focusing on whether AI will take jobs, the session will explore the more consequential question: how can individuals, companies and economies adapt to a future where humans and AI agents increasingly work together?
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Understand the difference between AI assistants and AI agents.
- Gain insight into how AI may reshape jobs, organisations, and industries.
- Learn what skills and capabilities are becoming critical in the AI era.
- Understand how leading organisations are deploying AI at scale.
- Develop a clearer perspective on the strategic implications of AI for Singapore and the global economy.
