The Chamber was honoured to host Ms. Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment today as our Distinguished Speaker. In her address, Ms. Fu talked about the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and how and why companies must transform to grow and thrive in the transition to the green economy. She advised companies to view sustainability as a strategic choice and a competitive advantage. The Minister also encouraged all businesses to collaborate to innovate, grow and achieve greater sustainability together. She also highlighted the availability of government grants and schemes to help companies realise their transition plans.
The Minister’s address was immediately followed by a dialogue and Q & A session moderated by the Chamber’s Chairman Dr. Bicky Bhangu. Thanks to a very engaged audience, the Q & A session was very lively and interactive. It covered a wide range of sustainability topics including food security, alternative energy sources and manpower upskilling and re-skilling to develop sustainability competencies.
We would like to thank Ms. Fu for spending the morning with us and the audience for a very interactive and useful dialogue. Special thanks to our Exclusive Event Sponsor Schneider Electric for its generous support.
