It was a real pleasure to host Mr. S Iswaran, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations yesterday. The Minister was our 4th Distinguished Speaker this year. The focus of the Minister’s address was how Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) benefit Singapore-based companies. Singapore’s wide network of FTAs has attracted global investors to the country, creating new and diverse job opportunities. It has also ensured that essential supplies are available to Singapore even during the pandemic.

The Minister shared that Singapore is establishing a network of Digital Economy Agreements (DEAs) to facilitate seamless digital trade and provide a trustworthy digital system for businesses. All of these are necessary to enable the expansion of e-commerce across the region and to play a role in achieving more inclusive growth for the best of societal reasons.
