The Chamber kicked off the inaugural edition of Coffee Connect last Friday – a new series designed to complement the Chamber’s core programming with conversations that are both personally relevant to members while remaining grounded in today’s evolving economic landscape.
As Singapore’s first commercial organisation and one of the region’s oldest business chambers, SICC continues to evolve its approach to member engagement – creating platforms that foster not only learning but also meaningful connection. Coffee Connect is intentionally informal yet substantive, providing a space for fresh perspectives, open dialogue, and new relationships.
The inaugural session featured Ms Selena Ling, Chief Economist and Head of Global Markets Research & Strategy at OCBC, a valued Chamber member.
Under the theme Conflict & Money, Selena shared clear and insightful perspectives on how geopolitical tensions and global uncertainty are shaping economies, markets, and financial decision-making. The discussion that followed reflected a strong exchange of views, spanning AI, inflation, investment sentiment, and the broader economic outlook.
True to the spirit of the series, conversations extended beyond the session, with members continuing discussions and building connections in a more informal setting over coffee, beer, and wine.
At SICC, meaningful dialogue and purposeful connections remain central to our role as an advocate, connector, and convenor for business. We look forward to continuing these conversations at the next Coffee Connect in May.
