Celebrating Teamwork: Integrating Talent

23 October 2019 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

Sands Expo & Convention Centre Begonia Junior Ballroom, Level 3 Marina Bay Sands 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore 018956

Thanks to the support of its members, partners and fraternal business associations, the Chamber organised the first Trade Associations and Chambers’ Integration Programme (TACIP) event on 23 October 2019. Inspired by attending National Integration Council dialogue sessions this year, SICC volunteered to arrange this first TAC event as a safe platform to facilitate discussions of issues around the integration of local and foreign talent in companies. Achieving optimal teamwork is as existential for the companies themselves as it is for a global city like Singapore.

Mr Michael Tan, Human Resource Director of Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), shared the inclusion strategies the company adopts to create a cohesive global work environment for its multicultural talents. Michael emphasised that leadership is held accountable for inclusion outcomes which allow employees to bring their full selves to work.

Following Michael’s presentation was an engaging panel conversation on the topic followed by a Q+A segment. We would like to thank Ms. Shahrany Hassan, Founder & Director of The WhiteHatters for moderating the panel conversation and audience interaction. We would also like to thank the panellists for their insights:

– Ms. Rohaya Roslee, Asia Pacific Regional Inclusion Leader, Dow
– Mr. Rochak Agrawal, Director, Technology, UBS Investment Bank
– Mr. Steve Manning, Director, Stanton Chase
– Ms Michele Lemmens, Regional Head, ASEAN Hub Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), APAC Business Sustainability Head (TCS), Tata Consulting Services
– Mr. Laurence W. Chin, Former Country Manager Singapore, United Airlines

Key takeaways are: see the human first, look for the commonalities not the differences.

Finally, our thanks to following business associations for their support of this event which shows the united spirit of the business community in addressing integration topics relevant to each company and to society at large:
