We had a really interesting event last Friday with SICPA SA. Founded in 1927, this Swiss company is a leading provider of secured authentication, identification and supply chain solutions and is a long-trusted partner to governments, central banks and industry. Our guest speaker was Mr. Xavier Urbaneja, Head of Brand Protection for SICPA SA who provided members with information and case studies on how to protect their brands and combat counterfeiting and piracy operations.

We are all in the same boat when it comes to brand protection. All industries are susceptible to fraud, counterfeiting and product adulteration. Brand protection is a life cycle where companies must first identify the existing challenges before strategizing and implementing appropriate security solutions. These will depend on the nature of each product and industry but they need to be fit for purpose to be effective. This is why SICPA collaborates to innovate by bringing together its employees with start-ups, other companies and researchers in a single location.
