For the Chamber’s Innovation Series on 6 March, we were delighted to invite member LEGO to share their innovation story.

Mr Kinnar Ghiya, Vice President of Global Indirect Materials and Services Procurement spoke about how LEGO continues to innovate to remain a timeless brand, but its commitment to children requires the company to innovate responsibly.

He shared examples of what children-centric innovation means at LEGO. Whilst the company has implemented elements of digitalization, it is still their top priority to safeguard the children’s privacy and safety. The also adopt a creative approach to make safeguards fun for children and ensure balanced online and offline experiences. Highly-trained content moderators also deliberately speak the children’s language and delivery communications in fun, fresh formats.

Kinnar also talked about the company’s current and future goals on sustainability – investing in renewable energy generation; using only Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified product packaging and marketing materials; reducing the size of their packaging to improve transport efficiency and to save on cardboard packaging; as well as using sustainable materials to make LEGO products.

The next Innovation Series event features SATS and will take place on 26 March 2019. Click here to find out more and to register online.
