This  very well attended Zoom meeting was moderated by Stephen Revell, Freshfields. The panel comprised:

• Antony Cook, Regional Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel, Microsoft
• Edmund Eng, Director, Fullerton Law Chambers LLC
• Benjamin Gaw, Director, Drew & Napier LLC
• Tom Platts, Head of M&A, Southeast Asia, Stephenson Harwood

The panel responded to a wide range of questions, including whether law firms felt it really was “business as usual” and whether in-house agreed with that; how were work levels; and the impact of technology and being forced to use it. There was also a lively discussion about what impact the crisis was having on litigation and arbitration. Finally, the panel looked to the road ahead and there was a strong  view that there would be no returning to the way we worked before April.

There was strong evidence that virtual meetings were more efficient. People arrived on time and the meetings finished on time. To prove this point, Stephen Revell as moderator ensured that the meeting started on time and ended on time.
