Job Description
The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks a dynamic, thoughtful and dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Associate. This role offers a unique opportunity for candidates to shape the growth of our students and be part of a unique group of Student Affairs professionals.
This is a special role which reports to Chief of Staff (Student Affairs) as well as Head, Student Life (Student Affairs) and works closely with other Student Affairs units. You will be working closely with student-centric university leaders and be part of a team shaping the future of SUTD.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative (supporting a senior leader plus an initiative team):
Calendar management – including organising & coordination of meetings, events, conferences, and other appointments
Manage expense claims
Manage work travel accommodation and arrangements
Coordinate and follow up on meetings/projects which includes preparation of agendas, budgets and forecasts, budgets/timeline tracking, etc
Administrative support such as documentation, minute-writing, and preparation of presentation materials
2. Strategy and Planning:
Contribute to team planning for the student experience/learning journey
Analyse data and learning outcomes to track effectiveness of efforts
Continually pilot new ideas to evolve strategies to improve student experiences and their learning journeys.
3. Pillar/Cluster Liaison:
Work closely with SUTD Academic Pillars and Clusters, as well as other departments and student groups in order to engage students effectively
Communicate effectively with the Pillars and Clusters as well as other internal and external partners
Requirements
Possess a recognised degree from a university (preferably in Engineering, Computing/AI, and/or Design)
Highly analytical with some aptitude for planning/strategy work
Possess strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Able to multi-task and work independently, while being tightly aligned to the organisation and team’s approach and efforts
Be creative and able to challenge norms, be resourceful, goal-driven, diligent, independent and yet be a good team player
Flexibility to work selected weekends and after hours when needed
Up-to-date digital skills effective utilisation of social media, web, etc.
Strong project management and organisational skills with a flair in design for presentations
One or more of the following will also be useful (but are not requirements)
Strong familiarity with undergraduate studies at SUTD
Understand the higher education landscape in Singapore
Have a good understanding of the industries which SUTD students are employed in
Have design/systems-thinking experience, inc. implementation
Possess knowledge and skills of database and IT systems
