Ms Pinky Sibal shared with members of the Interest Group on the importance of media monitoring and social listening, the various benefits, challenges and pitfalls, and the various tools which users can explore to complement their broader marketing strategies. Members were active in an engaging session which saw a few sharing of their own companies’ experiences and tools deployed, as well as questions on how JCU executed their media monitoring and social listening strategy. Key learning points include being clear about what users want to achieve before deciding how and which social listening or monitoring tool to deploy.
