After 2 years of virtual AGMs, it was such a pleasure to hold our 181st AGM today in person at Goodwood Park Hotel at which Dr. Bicky Bhangu was elected Chairman for the 2022-2025 Board term, Mr. Martin Hayes was elected First Deputy Chairman and Ms. Dawn Tan was elected Second Deputy Chairwoman. 7 new Board members were also elected as a result of the constitutionally mandated call out to members interested to serve on the Board. We are delighted 5 of the 7 are senior women executives whose presence significantly improves gender diversity on the Board.

The AGM was followed by a luncheon graced by Guest of Honour Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade and Industry and attended by over 200 members, guests and diplomats. Minister Gan spoke about Singapore Vision 2030 and engaged in a dialogue with the audience moderated by Prof. Arnoud De Meyer. The Minister stressed the importance of not focussing only on short term business and economic challenges but for each business and its workforce to prepare themselves for the digital future. The lessons we have all learned from the Covid-19 pandemic will stand us in good stead as we plan for that future. They are – agility, adaptability, collaboration, partnership and integrated teamwork.
