Dear
Members and Friends
Next year the Chamber will celebrate 100 years of providing Certificate of Origin and related trade documentation services to businesses in Singapore. As we build towards another significant milestone in our 186th year, we have solved a major customer experience challenge related to applying for the ATA Carnet.
The Temporary Admissions (ATA) Carnet is an internationally recognized Customs document which functions as the passport for goods. The Chamber has been issuing the ATA Carnet since 1984. It allows goods to be exported for temporary reasons such as exhibitions, professional equipment uses and commercial samples, for example, to one or more countries duty and tax free; provided the same goods are re-exported to Singapore within a defined time period.
The Carnet document is a
multiform and, up until now,
customers had to fill in the
same information on multiple
pages. We used IMDA’s Open
Innovation Platform (OIP) once
again to find a competent vendor
to help us improve the customer
experience and we found one in
Kenzap Pte Ltd. Thanks to my
team’s domain knowledge and
Kenzap’s coding and technical
skills, we now have an
e-application system which is
easy to use, removes the need to
input the same information
repeatedly by auto filling the
relevant boxes and reduces human
error as a result. Not a bad way
to celebrate a century of
helping business with their
trade documentation needs,
wouldn’t you say?
To learn more about the ATA Carnet and our new e-application system, please contact my colleague Nisha at

Yours
faithfully
