Dear Members and
Friends
The business
community asked the government for help
with salaries and costs. The government
responded with a significantly larger
than anticipated stimulus package in
last week’s Resilience Budget. It is now
time for all of us to our part.
-
Those of
you who can, protect your teams’
jobs. Take full advantage of the
myriad of available schemes to
develop your skills and those of
your teams and those schemes which
help your business survive. If you
need help navigating the schemes,
give a shout to me at
[email protected] or to my
colleague Philip at
[email protected].
-
Those of
you who have to retrench workers, do
so with empathy and in consultation
with MOM and the relevant unions.
Update yourselves on the
multi-pronged help available for
retrenched workers and provide it to
them.
-
Private
sector landlords, it is time to step
up. Support your tenants by passing
on the full property tax rebates and
sign fair tenancy agreements with
your tenants. Do it now.
-
Businesses which have the financial
capabilities look beyond your own
company and provide work to others.
Now is the time to retrofit your
offices, to tidy up your branding
and to support the less well off in
our society.
We are all in the same boat. We’ve had
the bail out. Don’t sink the boat by
failing to act with empathy and
responsibility. #SGUnited
Keep
safe and well.
Yours faithfully
Victor Mills
