Dear Members and Friends
This year, Deepavali – the Festival of Lights – falls on 31 October.
Light is important to all of us. Whether from the moon, or from good street illumination, light allows us to see ahead in the dark so we don’t stumble and fall. Light is our protection from dark corners and from whatever is lurking in them. Shining a light on something illuminates it so we can see it more clearly for what it is. Light represents the right way to do things. It represents honesty and integrity. As such, light, in the broadest meaning of the word, represents good character, truth and justice.
The Chamber wishes all who celebrate Deepavali a wonderful celebration with family and friends of the victory of light over darkness, of good over evil, of truth over falsehoods, of integrity over deceit and of selflessness over selfishness. All celebrants, and each and every one of us, should strive to shine our light each and every day not just at festival times. So, shine your light and don’t hide it under a bushel. Happy Deepavali!
Yours faithfully
