Dear Members and Friends

The true meaning of Christmas is not the tree, nor the decorations and certainly not the presents or the feasting. Rather, the true meaning of the festival is the promise personified by a child born over two thousand years ago. His birth was signalled by a bright star which provided light to guide the shepherds and wise men to his manger which served as his cradle.

The theme of light is central to the Christmas story of promise and potential as it is to so many of the major festivals we celebrate in Singapore each year. The themes of light over darkness, illumination over ignorance, love over hate, selflessness and service over selfishness and, above all, good over evil are all part of the Christmas message.

My team and I wish everyone who celebrates Christmas a joyful celebration and a rededication to actioning the real meaning of the festival every day of the year.

We also wish all our members and their families happy holidays and a restorative break from work.

Spread the light. Banish the darkness.
