Dear Members and Friends
Your Chamber has always
supported the work of the
National Integration Council
(NIC) because integration of
newly arrived immigrants,
professionals and workers is
essential to our economy and to
social harmony. It is essential
to enable them to contribute
faster and to encourage them to
assimilate. In so doing, they
become more effective for
themselves and for the
businesses they work for. They
need to want to integrate just
as much as it is essential that
people already here welcome them
and enable their integration.
Like any worthwhile
relationship, integration is
always a two way street.
NIC has asked us to bring its
workshop on workplace
integration efforts to your
attention. The aim of the
workshop is for businesses to
learn how to co-create a safe
space that is supportive,
encouraging and inclusive for
both local and global talent.
Micro-indignities can very
easily cause disharmony and
disengagement among employees.
NIC’s workshop will help people
managers and HR business
partners develop practices for
diversity and inclusion (D&I) so
your company can better address
micro-indignities in your
workplace. The 3-hour workshop
is funded under NIC’s Community
Integration Fund so there is no
cost to you for participation.
We encourage you to join
to discuss D&I issues and
develop fit for purpose
follow-ups to be practised in
your respective workplaces after
the coaching session. Click
here for more information on
the workshop.
You can
sign up for the workshop

Another NIC initiative is the
Community Orientation Programme
(COP) designed for newly arrived
Employment Pass Holders. The COP
is an introductory half-day
orientation programme aimed at
providing global talent with the
opportunity to interact and
connect with Singaporeans to
help them better appreciate
Singapore’s culture and norms to
foster a sense of belonging and
inclusion in the community.
Participants will also get to
participate in a Community
Immersion Journey to enhance
their understanding of Singapore
society. The minimum size for
each session is 25 participants.
