The late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew said:

“Without defence there is no security, there is no economy.”

This is precisely why this Chamber has always supported the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), National Service and NSmen. The men and women of the SAF and NSmen provide the security needed for your businesses and our economy to thrive.

Russia’s illegal, thoroughly unnecessary and brutal invasion of Ukraine reminds us all of the need for defence to protect national sovereignty and independence.

SAF Day falls on 1 July each year. Because 1 July is a Saturday this year, the annual Combined Rededication Ceremonies (CRCs) will take place on 30 June. At these ceremonies, the men and women of the SAF and NSmen rededicate themselves to serve the nation. At the same ceremonies, businesses rededicate themselves to support National Service and to enable their employees who are NSmen to serve. Hence, combined rededication.
