Dear
Members and Friends
When
we first launched our awards in
2015, as part of celebrating
SG50, many people thought we
were unwise to attempt an annual
awards programme. They were
right in the sense it is tough
to do – just like many things
which are right are tough to do.
Shining a spotlight on the power
of collaboration to enable
innovation and the creation of
new value for the collaborating
businesses is the right thing to
do. Our award winners show what
is possible for every business
to achieve positive outcomes.
Thanks to all your support, our
awards are now in their 8th
consecutive year. It is with
much pleasure we officially
launch the 2023 SICC Awards
today: nominations are now open!
The
SICC Awards are differentiated
in many ways from other award
programmes:-
·
The awards are open to everyone
whether you are a member of SICC
or not.
·
The awards are international:
all successful collaborations
can apply as long as one of the
collaborating businesses is
based in Singapore.
·
No-one sponsors or influences
the decisions to make, or not to
make,
awards. Awards are made solely
on the collective opinions of an
independent panel of judges.
·
Finalists and other members
sponsor the gala dinner at which
the winners are announced and
awarded by buying at least 1
table.
·
The SICC Awards share the key
learnings from the award winning collaborations in an annual TV
programme produced for the
Chamber by Channel NewsAsia
(CNA) and paid for by the
Chamber not by the awards
finalists. We do this to share
the power of collaboration with
as wide an audience as possible
to encourage more people to see
how collaboration can help them
innovate, grow, sustain and
excel. Tune in to CNA on 23
March at 7.00pm for “Collaborate
to Innovate: Growing Your
Ecosystem” to learn from the
winners of last year’s awards.
This
year, in addition to the
existing 4 award categories, we
are launching a 5th
category for the Most Positive
Workplace Collaboration.
Work is a collaboration between
employers and employees. There
is nothing more important in
business today than each
business getting workplace
culture right to attract and
retain talent and customers, to
implement business plans and to
achieve sustained, commercial
success. Many businesses shy
away from discussing this
important aspect of commercial
life and, yet, it is central to
and for their very survival.
Like an annual awards programme,
it takes effort to achieve
optimal workplace culture but it
is the right thing to do for
everyone in a business and for
the community in which the
business is based.
To participate in this year’s
awards, visit
www.siccawards.com.sg
for the Awards Information Pack
which gives details of each
awards category, the judging
panel and details on sponsorship
opportunities for the gala
dinner. Nomination forms are
also available on the same site.
The Awards Ceremony & Gala will
be held on 26 October 2023 at
Marina Bay Sands in the presence
of our Guest-of-Honour Mr. Alvin
Tan, Minister of State, Ministry
of Culture, Community and
Youth & Ministry of
Trade and Industry.
We
look forward to receiving your
submissions and wish everyone
all the very best.
Yours
faithfully
Victor Mills
