Dear
Members and Friends
Last week Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education announced an enhanced role for the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL). It is now the first National Centre of Excellence for Adult Learning. This is an important development and will allow the IAL to collaborate with others to expand collective capabilities to meet the learning needs of working adults and the companies they work for.
The Chamber very much hopes a curriculum will be developed to help Boards, C-Suite executives, People Managers and all other employees to co-create and co-sustain a positive workplace culture (PWC) for personal and commercial success. You can be sure the Chamber will be exploring this with IAL.
The lack of PWC in so many businesses everywhere is the single biggest factor holding back personal, corporate and societal development, progress and success. It is the cause of symptoms such as abuse, including bullying and sexual harassment, depression, discrimination, unfair hiring and promotion and the inability to retain talent. It is vital we work together to tackle this scourge to improve individual and corporate competitiveness, effectiveness, success and wellbeing. What better way than via education?
Have a great week ahead.
Yours
faithfully
Victor Mills
