Dear Members and Friends

A large part of the success and implementation of the Forward Singapore initiative launched by Mr. Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance last week will depend on our successors: the young people of Singapore who are now at school, college, National Service (NS) or university.

They need to develop a global outlook - what we call the global quotient - in addition to IQ and EQ to lead happy, productive and successful lives and help keep Singapore relevant and successful too.

Thanks to the vision of Dr. David Ong, who is an engineer by profession as well as an investor and Board Director of our Chamber, this is what his brainchild the Singapore Mentorship Committee (SMC) seeks to do.

Like all strong initiatives, SMC collaborates to expand its capabilities and reach. The Chamber is honoured and proud to be a supporting organization along with Business China, The Singapore Law Society and Institutes of Higher Learning.
