Dear
Members and Friends
Earlier this month, as part of activities to mark International Women’s Day, I attended the official launch of EmpowHER. This Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) initiative is designed to partner companies and organizations to encourage their women team members to get screened for cancer to protect their health, their families and the businesses they work for. Every life matters.
Early screening and detection make all the difference in surviving cancer. I was shocked to learn only 30%-40% of women in Singapore go for cancer screening compared to 60%-70% in other developed economies. This is an alarming statistic because it tells us risks are not being managed. It calls for action by every company and organization and the men and women who work for them to support one another in changing attitudes, behaviour and outcomes. It just makes commercial, human and societal sense.
SCS partners businesses and organisations to empower women employees to take charge of their health. Women employees of participating corporates and organisations will enjoy screening benefits
all year round for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening. To learn more,

I call on all member companies to step up and act now in your own best interests and those of the women in your businesses.
Yours
faithfully
