Dear
Members and Friends
This issue we feature our Circular Economy Interest Group (IG).
The transition to the circular economy is the only rational response to managing existential climate change risks. The apposite word here is transition. It will take time but action is needed now by all businesses: to reduce waste and emissions, to design goods with components which can be recycled and reused all in the best interests of their own commercial survival and the survival of the human race and our planet.
Co-chaired by Marc Allen and Vinod Kesava, this IG
comprises of members from many
industries all of whom are
passionately interested in the
sustainability and circular
economy space in Singapore. They
provide plenty of opportunities
for each other to learn from
some of the best minds in
business, policy making and
regulation.
The vision for the IG is for it to be the hub for
knowledge sharing among its
members and for the wider
Chamber membership. It answers
the key questions what are the
trends in sustainability and the
circular economy and what are
the business impacts and
opportunities?
Apart from
thought-leadership sharing by IG
members, it has extensive
engagement with government
agencies like the Ministry of
Sustainability & The
Environment, Singapore Food
Agency, and global green
organizations like The Alliance
to End Plastic Waste and the
Resilient Cities Network.
IG members are currently in the process of developing
educational content around
sustainability – specially
designed for students in
Singapore.
If you want to add your
expertise to the mix, expand
your network or just keep
learning, contact my colleague
Michael at
[email protected] to join the IG.
Yours
faithfully
Victor Mills
