Dear
Members and Friends
The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) is now in its 71st year.
It is the United Nations’
Refugee Agency dedicated to
saving lives, protecting rights
and helping build a better
future for refugees, forcibly
displaced communities and
stateless people.
Originally established with a
3-year mandate to help with
refugee resettlement in Europe
after the Second World War, the
UNHCR now has over 17,000
personnel working in 135
countries. It is a very sad
reflection on the human species
that we still need organisations
like the UNHCR today. But we do.
We are the international
Chamber and we support the
international work of the UNHCR.
If you would like to help reduce
the risk of innocent children
and refugees being exploited and
trafficked and help displaced
communities have access to safe
shelter, education, training and
healthcare, contact
[email protected].
They’ll be glad to hear from
you.
