Dear
Members and Friends
My topic last week was
Leadership Matters. This week I
want to focus on Talent Matters.
One of my colleagues retired
last week after 50 years of
service with the Chamber. He
started off as a uniformed
messenger printing circulars and
delivering them to members when
everything was either hand
delivered or sent by post. He
completed his service as a
valuable member of our
Certification Services Team
manning our counter and helping
customers and their
representatives with their trade
documentation needs.
Throughout his career he was
calm, reliable, polite and
always ready to learn. His
language and social skills
coupled with his sense of humour
made him a pleasure to deal
with. His humility was another
key factor in his success.
These are all transferable
skills whatever the nature of
work. Join us on
29 January when we discuss
what talent matters you should
be thinking about, planning for
and enabling in 2021 and beyond.
Why? Because talent always
matters.
Yours faithfully
Victor Mills
