Dear Members and Friends,
Many of you know your Chamber
was the first business
association in Singapore to
champion the circular economy.
It is worth repeating. This
Chamber has always been focused
on the sustainability of the
Singapore economy and the
businesses which represent it.
Transitioning the economy to
circular models of production
and consumption is the only
viable course of action to
mitigate the effects of climate
change and to save our planet
and the human species. We call
to this as Industrial Revolution
5.0 which needs to be every bit
as transformative as its
predecessors if we are to have a
chance at a future.
It
has been so encouraging to see
the steps Singapore has been
taking in recent years to reduce
and manage waste, to save water
and to protect the island from
rising sea levels.
It
gives me great pleasure to share
with you the latest
Position Paper from our
Circular Economy Interest Group
on Extended Producer
Responsibility for Packaging in
Singapore - a vital factor in
achieving circular models of
production. Please take the time
to read it and to share your
comments with me.
Yours faithfully
Victor Mills
