You will recall my views about
recruitment practices in general
in Singapore. To recap, they are
too often sub-par, lazy, because
companies and recruiters rely on
job titles to filter
applications, inefficient,
overly subjective and ageist.
They are also costly
because current practices often
result in hiring the wrong
person. They are also costly
because of inefficient, multiple
rounds of interviews for no real
corporate gain. More time and
money are lost as a result of a
particular evil prevalent in our
job market. This is the oft
heard horror story where
employers advertise, interview
and hire for one job but then
expect the new hire to do an
entirely different job on day 1
of their employment with the
company. To say recruitment
practices need a reboot is a
very big understatement indeed.
Candidates should be
assessed on their character,
competencies, skills and
potential and nothing else. It
is refreshing to come across a
platform that helps move
recruitment towards achieving
these beneficial goals. Your
