Dear Members and Friends
I am lucky to meet many talented people in this job. Some of them are inspirational too. Last week was a case in point.

Lyn R. Lee and Jane Low of Shell were our guest speakers on Diversity and Inclusion (D+I). They shared Shell’s inspiring D+I journey with fellow members and guests. Everyone appreciated their authenticity and honesty. Shell is on a journey which will never end. It recognizes the commercial advantages of striving to build an ever more inclusive workplace across all the countries in which it operates. A great example to emulate and to learn from.

Later in the same week I met Christopher Tay, Philip Li and Pam Kaur of APSN – the association for persons with special needs. Their collective passion to serve, enable and help their clients with jobs and other needs is truly inspirational and impactful. www.apsn.org.sg

Both sets of people and organizations underscore a key message. When we seek to build a more inclusive society, we have to include everyone regardless of age, race, language, religion, sexual orientation and different abilities. It’s not easy. It takes consistent effort but benefits us all as when recognize what we all have in common - our humanity.

I am looking forward to another inspirational week this week as the Chamber holds its 178th AGM followed by luncheon on 20 June.
