Dear Members and Friends

Everyone knows that Singapore is battling diabetes. What’s needed is a holistic approach which includes each of us taking responsibility for our own well-being in our self-interest by eating a balanced diet and taking regular exercise. What’s also needed is clear, easy to understand and standardized nutritional information for all foods and beverages. This way consumers will be able to make better informed decisions.

Click here for your Chamber’s response to the government’s public consultation paper on possible action on sugar-sweetened beverages. SICC advocates the holistic approach set out above and the continuation of the effective collaboration between government and industry. This is preferable to any of the proposed draconian measures such as taxes or bans.

NOTICE OF CLOSURE

The Chamber and its Certification Services Department will be closed as follows in addition to the gazetted public holidays on 5 & 6 February 2019:

- 4 February 2019 (Monday) from 1.00pm on the eve of the Lunar New Year
