As you know, this Chamber believes that selfless leadership is the most important pre-condition for positive workplace culture, staff retention and development and, therefore, for business success. To be selfless is often to be fearless.

I've come across a leadership course which sounds compelling and meaningful and with run dates in Singapore in October and December 2018. It's called 'Fearless Leadership and Mindful Enterprise' (FLAME). What's it all about?

Responding to new challenges and opportunities requires leadership marked by consistent, cross-functional collaboration where people at all levels genuinely assume personal responsibility for a collective output. Rather than changing leaders, FLAME argues that organisations should invest in doing their leadership differently. A mindset shift from leader-driven change to leadership-enabled change lies at the heart of its approach.

This means naming and addressing the intractable, messy problems and starting with them...rather than with the leaders. This approach has been informed and honed by interviewing senior executives from a range of organisations dealing with complex and uncertain problems. Working with real time leadership issues as core content, delegates are expected to show up authentically and to challenge and radically support one another in an open and conscientious way.

Selfless and fearless leadership are not for the faint hearted but they are for you.
