What did you make of yesterday’s budget announcement? I think it is fair to say that there was relief that the expected and necessary GST hike will not take effect until after the next general election. Relief too that measures were announced to support R+D which your Chamber called for in its budget wish list.

Your Chamber was mentioned early in the Minister’s speech when he said:
“Industry partners like the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and the Big 4 accounting firms have given us useful suggestions. We have studied and will implement some of them.”

My thanks to all members, including those from the Big 4 accounting firms, who contribute to our annual budget wish list.
