Myanmar: Asia’s Final Frontier

Because Myanmar offers so many attractive investment opportunities in agriculture, energy, fisheries, infrastructure, mining, and so much more, the International Monetary Fund describes the country as Asia’s “Final Frontier”.

Myanmar has many of the right attributes for sustainable growth: abundant natural resources and arable land and, most importantly, a young and motivated population that is always ready to learn and upskill.

Again, focussing on the Myanmar Investment Commission’s 10 prioritized Investment Activities will allow investors to enjoy benefits such as 3 to 5 years tax exemption and long-term leases on properties.

Myanmar companies large and small are actively looking for foreign partners and investors in all sectors. They look to foreign partners to bring in new talent, expertise and knowledge to build and upgrade businesses.

How do you best navigate Myanmar opportunities? By doing your homework and by being prepared to take and manage calculated risks. Most important of all, you need to identify and build trust with the right business partners.
