Dear Members and Friends

I hope you had a good, long weekend and to all our Muslim friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

Many thanks to each of you who attended AGM 2017 on 21 June and the very enjoyable reception which followed it at Conrad Centennial Singapore.  Many  thanks  to  the  hotel  for  being our venue partner for the reception.

I also want to thank the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) for being our co-host  for  the reception.  Its  Chairman,  Mrs Mildred Tan spoke about the benefits of corporate giving both for businesses and the communities in which they live and work. NVPC’s Company of Good  initiative  was  featured  and NVPC  team  members  were  on hand  to explain the  programme  to  Chamber  members  and friends.   My thanks   to  Mildred  and  the  entire  NVPC  team  for  their presence.

140 members and friends worked the room creating a terrific buzz as they enjoyed each other’s company, great service from the Conrad team and quaffable wines from wine sponsor Cornerstone Wine. I’d now like to update you with the key results of the AGM.

Mr Jonathan Asherson, Chairman of Rolls-Royce Singapore Pte Ltd was elected Chairman of the SICC Board for the 2017–2018 term. He replaces Mr Chaly Mah who retires from the Board having completed 10 years’ service including the last two years as Chairman. Prof Arnoud de Meyer, President of the Singapore Management University was elected First Deputy Chairman and Mr Uttam Kripalani, Managing Director of Galaxy Insurance Consultants Pte Ltd was elected Second Deputy Chairman.
