Dear Members and Friends

Over the course of this year, many of you have told me and my colleagues that you really enjoy the warm welcome at SICC. Most of you say that our events and activities are different from those of other chambers and that’s why you enjoy them. This is very encouraging for me and my team because this is what we work to achieve for you.  Given  that you feel  this way, may I ask  for a favour?

Tell your friends and business contacts and invite their companies to apply for membership. The membership application form is on our web site under membership at www.sicc.com.sg. And since one good turn deserves another, we’ll credit you with “event dollars” for every referral which joins to redeem for SICC events. Click here for information.

I have a special message for those of you who are listed as your company’s main contact point for the Chamber (also known as “Main Representative” or “Main Rep”). The purpose of this role is to filter Chamber communications and to advocate for your Chamber throughout your organisation. This just makes sense. It allows your company to maximise its membership. One of the many main advantages of SICC membership is that your Chamber does not impose a maximum number of people from each company who can benefit from the company’s membership. SICC is an inclusive platform for all member company employees.

Many Main Reps are currently the most senior executive in each company. This dates to those now far-off days when CEOs had more time. Very few of you today have the time to perform the Main Rep role. There are simply too many demands on your time. I have written to each of you separately asking that where you are unable to act as the Chamber advocate for your company, please delegate the Main Rep role to a senior business colleague. Should you decide to do this, please let us know by email to [email protected] so that we can update our database.

Thank you all for your active participation, for your input, for your presence and that of your colleagues. Most of all, thank you for being ambassadors of Singapore’s longest-serving chamber.
