Dear Members and Friends
If you were one of the 700+ people who attended your Chamber’s 180th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony last Friday, you will know the evening was a great success. That it was is down to my terrific team and your equally terrific generosity and support.
Special thanks go to our Principal Event Sponsor, the Singapore American School, for its multi-year support. Many thanks, too, to all our other event sponsors and supporting partners for helping to make the event possible.
I also want to thank every member and guest for your presence. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone I have spoken with and everyone who has written to me on Friday and afterwards thoroughly enjoyed themselves. So, good job everyone! We’ve collectively done SICC proud! You can get the flavour of the evening by visiting our photo gallery.
Our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security presented the trophies to the winners of the 2017 SICC Awards. Not only did he refer to your Chamber as a “steadfast partner in the Singapore story” but he very kindly listed our award winners in a Facebook post.
Here are the winning collaborations of the 2017 SICC Awards:
1. The Most Scalable Collaboration went to “The Brownstone Executive Condominium” by Canvey Developments Ltd and Teambuild Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd.
2. The Most Technologically Disruptive Collaboration was won by “Collaboration Towards Smart Factory Using Autonomous Guided Vehicles” by Infineon Technologies AP Pte Ltd and HOPE Technik Pte Ltd.
3. The Most Green Collaboration went to “Packaging Re-Design Holistic Carbon Footprint Reduction & Productivity Improvement” by Leica Instruments Singapore Pte Ltd and Fagerdala Singapore Pte Ltd.
4. The Most Transformational Collaboration was won by “Made in Singapore for Asia Pacific” by Kimberly-Clark Asia Pacific Pte Ltd and Essential Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd.
Many congratulations to all the nominees, finalists and winners. All your collaborations were compelling testimony to the maxim that the fastest way to innovate is to collaborate.
As part of our anniversary celebrations, SICC made endowed gifts of SGD400,000 each to the Singapore Management University and the Singapore University of Technology and Design to support bright and needy undergraduate students’ overseas exchange programmes. The Singapore Government will match these donations.
Have a great week ahead and look out for the invitation next month to participate in the 2018 SICC Awards.
Warmest regards
Victor Mills
