Dear Members and Friends
This week I want to salute all members who serve on the many Chamber committees. Committees are a key mechanism for members to network, share expertise, learn from each other and create value for themselves and others. Equally, committees provide me and my team with critical ground sensing which enhances the Chamber’s voice: an informed opinion about what concerns, issues and unintended policy outcomes you are thinking about or grappling with.
Members who serve on committees are to be admired. They understand that to achieve value from membership of a voluntary business association like the Chamber, they must participate. They know that what you get out of the Chamber is largely determined by what you put in. It is no accident that committee members are among the Chamber’s most active. They invest their dedication, interests, knowledge and time. The best committees provide a great return on these investments. I am glad to say SICC’s committees do just that.
So, thank you to all members who serve on committees. My team and I really appreciate your collaboration and high engagement level. I encourage all members who do not yet serve on committees to join those that match your interests. Full details are on our website. Also, take a few minutes to read the committee updates published each week in MemberCONNECT. Just look to your right. We do good work today but we need to do great work from tomorrow onwards. My team and I can’t do that without you.
Have a great week ahead.
With my thanks and warmest regards Victor
