Trade Matters: Shifting Supply Chains in Economic Uncertainty

19 May 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Webinar

Members really responded positively to the Chamber’s inaugural Trade Matters Series of events held by webinar on 19 May 2020. We were all privileged to have Dr. Deborah Elms, Founder and Executive Director of the Asian Trade Centre as our guest speaker. Deborah talked about shifting supply chains and how companies can effectively leverage Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) to their advantage during this period of increased economic and geo-political uncertainty.

FTAs are not easy documents either to read or to understand. They are written in legal language and are not accessible to the man or woman in the street. That is one key reason why the Chamber is working with Deborah and her team to produce easy to use guides to a number of key FTAs like the EU-Singapore and EU-Vietnam FTAs. Deborah ended her talk by sharing a model of how to review supply chains and to use the current situation to diversify and streamline them.

Many thanks to Deborah for her time and expertise and to our participants who contributed to a constructive Q & A session.

We look forward to seeing everyone again at our upcoming webinars:
