Personal Branding Talk

16 November 2018 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

SICC Members' Room, 6 Raffles Quay #10-01, Singapore 048580

The Chamber’s LinkedIn Strategic Partner, Black Marketing, conducted a talk on personal branding on 16 November. Chris Reed, Global CEO and Founder of Black Marketing delivered a highly energetic presentation, sharing executable tips for how business professionals can use LinkedIn to cultivate a strong reputation for themselves as an expert in their field. Here are some of the interesting takeaways we learnt from today’s session:

• 4-1-1 rule for content marketing – Chris recommends keeping to only 1 hard sell post and 1 soft sell post for every 4 unrelated posts that you create on LinkedIn in order not to oversell and turn away followers.

• Be a content creator – 90% of LinkedIn users do nothing by view the posts of others, 9% like, share or comment on the posts of others and only 1% actively create content. Chris encouraged participants to take a more active approach and come up with their own content, be it writing articles or creating short videos, in order to deliver value to followers.

• Market your company through you – LinkedIn users follow users, not company pages. Chris stressed the importance of dedicating time and effort in developing a strong personal brand because it will help you attract people who want to do business with you and your company.

We would like to thank Chris for being such an engaging presenter and for sharing his immense knowledge of the LinkedIn platform with all of us!
