Competition and Consumer Law Enforcement

18 July 2018 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

SICC Members' Room, Singapore

Leading experts from international law firm Ashurst delivered a talk on competition and consumer law on 18 July. This seminar covered enforcement trends in Asia Pacific, such as more active merger enforcement happening in the region. The speakers provided updates on changes in merger regimes of Asia Pacific countries. They also discussed several case studies, including the Grab-Uber and Chelsea Logistics-Trans-Asia mergers.

For the second half of their talk, they focused on sharing updates on Singapore’s consumer law and the role of the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore. They also did a comparison of Singapore versus Australian consumer law with examples of recent Australian cases.

We would like to thank our speakers, Alyssa Phillips, Partner and Angie Ng, Counsel, both from Ashurst’s Asia Pacific competition and consumer practice, for generously sharing their legal expertise with fellow members.
