Can Singapore do for Waste what it has done for Water?

6 April 2017 @ 8:40 am - 10:30 am

SICC Members' Room, Singapore

Today’s linear ‘take, make, dispose’ economic model is reaching its physical limits. In Singapore, in particular, a lot more can be done to re-think waste management and to make resource use circular. Our guest speaker, Ashwin Subramaniam, Founder & CEO of Gone Adventurin, delivered a content-rich and thought-provoking talk to members on 6 April. He gave an overview of how Singapore currently treats waste and the economic opportunity in driving circularity. He also shared case studies of how businesses are collaborating with waste companies to innovate because they see post-consumer waste not as trash, but as a resource.

The session also featured fast-growing Singaporean brand, NooTrees. David Ward, Founder & General Manager of NooTrees, who has a passion for making a positive difference on the environment, also shared his story of how he started his company. His presentation was an inspiration to other businesses on how they too can play a critical role in driving the Circular Economy.

We would like to thank Ashwin and David for taking time to share their knowledge and all members for participating in this discussion. For those who have missed the session, do click on the links below to download the presentation slides:
