Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition 2017
<Partner's Initiative> Organised bi-annually by the Singapore Management University, the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC) has attracted numerous innovative young talents from some of the most entrepreneurial universities around the world. LKYGBPC 2017 focuses on Smart City related Innovations, a theme with both global and local relevance and epitomises one of the greatest challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. SMU is calling for SICC members to participate as mentors and judges for the competition.
•Comment on team's business plan and highlight issues that may arise in the pitches during the competition.
•Give feedback on team pitches and PowerPoint presentations.
•Mentorship period is between approximately 17 July 2017 and 15 Sept 2017 after the announcement of the finalists and during the Singapore stage of the competition.
•Mentoring of the teams will be over Skype, e-mail and other means. Face-to-face mentoring is only required during the acceleration programme week from 11–15 Sept 2017. The approximate time commitment is 8–12 hours.
•After selection, a mentor will be matched to a finalist team based on your specialised area and the team’s needs.
•Evaluate approximately 15–20 business plans between 19 June – 12 July 2017. This equals about 10 hours of evaluating, rating and commenting on plans all from the comfort of your home or office.
•Function as a qualifier separating the unique from the good and from the "needs more work."
•Provide constructive feedback to the teams to enable them to understand the reason for their ratings and suggestions on how to move ahead.
